Coastal Clean Up
Annual Pasco Coastal and Waterways Clean Up, which will be from 8 a.m. to noon Sept. 20th This national event is spearheaded by The Ocean Conservancy and coordinated on a regional and local level.
It takes place on the third Saturday in September every year. It is a public / private partnership between county and local municipalities, nonprofit organizations and businesses throughout the county. This activity is one of Pasco's most widely recognized, with thousands of volunteers participating by cleaning area waterways, beaches and access roads to aquatic regions within the county.
There are usually 12-20 teams organized across the county. Between 2008-2012, 80.45 tons (160,900 pounds) of trash was removed from our streets and waterways by the Coastal Cleanup.
